Self Catering Cottage holidays with a difference

Winscott Barton is a North Devon working farm, nestling in one of England’ s few remaining areas of truly un-spoilt countryside. The three historic self catering cottages, sleeping 2, 6 and 8+, are an integral part of the farm, not a purpose built anonymous accommodation block hastily thrown together in some unproductive corner.

You can be in the thick of things at lambing time or relaxing by one of our lakes, casting a line or simply contemplating the local wildlife; try your hand at the traditional art of water divining, or for the more adventurous, explore the land in a very modern way from the cockpit of a microlight airplane.

And the night, so often simply an inconvenience in built up areas, can be absolutely fabulous in the countryside. Not only is there the unblemished canopy of stars - an unexpected treat for the town or city dweller, but an impressive array of nocturnal wildlife- from tawny and barn owls to badgers and foxes, hunting and feeding in their natural habitat. We’re only a few miles from the famous North Devon coast and its glorious beaches, from the flat sands of Westward Ho! to the rocky cove of Bucks Mills, a host of first class Golf courses and many other west country attractions.

All in all, the perfect venue for a family holiday, a well-earned retreat from the rigours of the daily grind, or a memorable romantic break.
